ASO
Look good. Do good. Support eye health with every step
Originally created exclusively for ASO members, our Super Eye Socks have already walked hospital corridors, operating theatres, and clinics across the country.
Now, for the very first time, they’re being released to the public. And what better occasion to launch them than World Sight Day (October 9, 2025) – a global call to action to focus attention on the importance of eye health.
First designed as part of the Crazy Socks 4 Docs campaign, raising awareness of doctors’ mental health, the socks quickly became a favourite among ophthalmologists.
By wearing them, you’re not only celebrating vision and the people who protect it but also helping raise funds for the Australian and New Zealand Eye Foundation (ANZEF), with 15% of every purchase supporting their vital work.

Why Socks?
Step Out in Style & Wear The Cause
The Australian Society of Ophthalmologists’ Super Eye Socks aren’t just fun and eye-catching – they also contribute to a worthy cause. We donate 15% of every purchase to the Australian and New Zealand Eye Foundation (ANZEF), who continue to make eye care accessible for everyone.
Your choice of socks helps support vital projects improving eye health across Australia and beyond.
Eye health is often overlooked, yet vision loss and preventable blindness can have life-changing impacts on individuals, families, and communities.
ANZEF works to:
- Fund sight-saving research and outreach to expand access to eye care in underserved communities.
- Build ophthalmology skills and capacity in rural, regional, and under-resourced areas.
- Train future leaders through culturally safe pathways, strengthening First Nations, Māori, and Pacific Peoples’ representation in ophthalmology.
- Champion advocacy and awareness to close the eye health equity gap across Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific.
By slipping on your pair of Super Eye Socks, you’re not just adding some colour to your wardrobe, you’re joining a movement that helps Australians access the specialist eye care they need.
Look good. Do good. Support eye health with every step.
